How to Install Lightroom Presets

A complete walkthrough for Lightroom Mobile, Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic. Most installs take under two minutes.

Lightroom Mobile (iOS & Android)

  1. Download and unzip the preset pack on your phone. The presets are .DNG files.
  2. Install the free Adobe Lightroom Mobile app from the App Store or Google Play.
  3. Open Lightroom Mobile and tap the + icon to add the .DNG file from your gallery.
  4. Open the imported DNG, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right, and select Create Preset.
  5. Name your preset, choose a group, and tap the check mark to save.
  6. To apply: open any photo, tap Presets, choose your saved preset, and tap the check mark.

Lightroom CC (Desktop)

  1. Unzip the preset pack on your computer. Look for the .XMP files.
  2. Open Lightroom CC and choose File → Import Profiles & Presets.
  3. Select all .XMP files in the unzipped folder and click Import.
  4. Your new presets will appear under the Presets panel on the right.
  5. Click any preset to apply it to the selected photo.

Lightroom Classic

  1. Unzip the preset pack on your computer.
  2. Open Lightroom Classic and switch to the Develop module.
  3. In the left panel, right-click on Presets and choose Import Presets.
  4. Select the .XMP or .LRTEMPLATE files and click Import.
  5. The presets will appear in the Presets panel — click any preset to apply.
